Privacy Policy
Dokokoko (dokokoko.kr, the "Service") values the personal information of its users and complies with the Personal Information Protection Act (Republic of Korea) and other applicable laws and regulations. This Policy explains how user information is collected, used, and protected in the course of using the Service, including Japan parking lot search and fee simulation.
Effective date: October 19, 2026
Article 1 (Items of Personal Information Collected and Methods of Collection)
The Service can be used by anyone free of charge without signing up as a member, and collects only the minimum information necessary to provide the Service.
- Location information: When a user uses the "Current location" function, the latitude and longitude coordinates are temporarily used through the browser's location (Geolocation) function. These coordinates are used only for searching for nearby parking lots and are not stored on the server.
- Search terms: Addresses, place names, and Google Maps URLs entered by users are processed for coordinate conversion and parking lot search, and are not stored in association with any personally identifiable information.
- Parking lot report information: When the parking lot reporting function is used, we collect the content of the report, the Google Maps URL, and, only where the user wants a reply, an email address (optional).
- Travel itinerary information: Flights, schedules, notes, and the like entered in the itinerary function are stored only in the user's browser (local storage) and are not transmitted to the server.
- Automatically collected information: Service usage records, access logs, cookies, IP address, browser type, and operating system may be collected automatically.
- Browser extension: The Chrome extension "Dokokoko — Japan Parking Finder and Fee Simulator" is used without signing up and does not collect information that identifies individuals. When a user selects a place on Google Maps, the coordinates (latitude and longitude) and name of that place, and the entry and exit times the user entered for fee calculation, are transmitted to the Service's servers and used only for searching for nearby parking lots and calculating fees. This information is not stored in association with any user account or identifier. The extension reads only the address bar URL of the Google Maps page and does not access the page content or the user's Google account information.
Article 2 (Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Information)
- Providing the Service: providing location-based parking lot search, fee simulation, map display, and travel itinerary management
- Handling reports: verifying and registering reported parking lot information and, at the reporter's request, replying with the result
- Improving the Service: analyzing usage statistics, identifying errors, and developing new features
- Displaying advertising: showing personalized or non-personalized advertising (see Article 6)
- Extension: searching for parking lots near a place selected on Google Maps and calculating fees
Article 3 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)
As a general rule, personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of its collection and use has been achieved.
- Email address collected with a report: destroyed after the report has been handled and a reply sent
- Website visit records under the Protection of Communications Secrets Act: 3 months
- Itinerary information stored in the browser: disappears immediately when the user deletes browser data (not kept on the server)
Article 4 (Provision to Third Parties and Outsourcing of Processing)
As a general rule, the Service does not provide users' personal information to outside parties. The following cases are exceptions.
- Where the user has given prior consent
- Where required under the provisions of law, or where an investigative agency requests it in accordance with the procedures prescribed by law
To operate the Service, processing is outsourced as follows, and some of the contractors are overseas businesses.
- Supabase Inc. (United States): database hosting (storing parking lot information, report content, and optionally entered email addresses). Data is stored in the Republic of Korea (Seoul) region.
- Vercel Inc. (United States): website hosting and access processing. Servers run in the Republic of Korea (Seoul) region, and access logs may be processed overseas as described in Article 4-2.
In addition, the following third-party services are integrated, and the privacy policy of each service may apply.
- Google Maps (map linking), Google AdSense (advertising), Google Analytics (usage statistics)
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim (converting addresses to coordinates: the search term entered is transmitted), OSRM (route search: coordinates are transmitted)

How to refuse and its effect: Declining in the cookie notice or blocking cookies in your browser settings limits the transfer of information to Google for personalized advertising and analytics; non-personalized ads are shown instead. If you do not use address search, no information is transferred to the OpenStreetMap Foundation, and you can still find parking by moving the map or using the place list. The transfer of website access records is essential to providing the Service, so if you do not want it, please stop using the Service.
Article 5 (Procedures and Methods for Destroying Personal Information)

The browser extension does not display advertising and does not use analytics tools or tracking cookies.
Article 7 (Rights of Users and How to Exercise Them)
