Terms of Use
Effective date: July 17, 2026
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities between the operator of the service (the "Operator") and users in connection with the use of the Japan parking information search and related services provided by Dokokoko (dokokoko.kr, the "Service").
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "Service" means all features of Dokokoko that a user can use, regardless of the type of device (PC, mobile, etc.) used to access it.
- "User" means a person who accesses the Service and uses it in accordance with these Terms.
- "Report" means information such as a parking lot's name, location, and fees that a user provides to the Service through the parking lot reporting function.
Article 3 (Effect and Amendment of the Terms)
- These Terms take effect upon being posted on the Service screen.
- The Operator may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws and regulations. When amending, the Operator will announce the effective date and the reason for the amendment starting 7 days before the effective date. For amendments that are unfavorable to users, the Operator will give notice with a grace period of at least 30 days.
- If a user does not agree to the amended Terms, the user may stop using the Service. A user who continues to use the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms is deemed to have agreed to the changes.
Article 4 (Content of the Service)
The Service provides the following features free of charge.
- Searching for parking lot locations in Japan and providing fee information and estimated fee simulations
- Map display related to parking lots and route guidance (linking to external services such as Google Maps)
- Receiving parking lot information reports
The Service is provided year-round as a general rule, but it may be temporarily suspended for operational or technical reasons such as system maintenance or failures.
Article 5 (Use of the Service and Data Storage)
- Anyone may use the Service free of charge without signing up as a member.
- Data entered by users, such as travel itineraries, is stored in the user's browser (local storage) and is not kept on the Operator's servers. Because it is deleted together with browser data when that data is cleared, please back up important information separately.
Article 6 (Use of Location Information)
- Only when a user selects the "Current location" function, the Service temporarily uses the user's coordinates, obtained through the browser's location function, for the purpose of searching for nearby parking lots. These coordinates are not stored on the server.
- Users may refuse to provide location information in their browser or device settings, in which case use of location-based features may be restricted.
Article 7 (Integration with Third-Party Services)
- The Service integrates with services provided by third parties, such as Google Maps and OpenStreetMap (including Nominatim and OSRM). The terms of use and privacy policy of each provider apply to the use of those services.
- Part of the parking lot location data is based on data from OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL license).
- The Operator does not guarantee the content, quality, or accuracy of third-party services and is not responsible for any problems arising from third-party services.
Article 8 (Display of Advertising)
- The Service may display advertising such as Google AdSense to fund its operation.
- The Operator bears no responsibility whatsoever for transactions that users conduct with third parties through advertisements.
Article 9 (Obligations of Users)
Users must not engage in any of the following acts.
- Submitting false information in a report
- Infringing the copyright or other intellectual property rights of the Operator or a third party
- Damaging the reputation of, or interfering with the business of, the Operator or a third party
- Placing an excessive load on the Service or collecting data in bulk by automated means (crawlers, bots, etc.)
- Using the Service's data for commercial purposes without the Operator's consent
- Any other unlawful or improper act
Article 10 (Use of Reported Information)
- The Operator may, after verification, publish, edit, and use parking lot information reported by users as Service content.
- Users warrant that the information they report does not infringe the rights of any third party.
Article 11 (Disclaimer)
- Information provided by the Service, such as parking fees, operating hours, and locations, is based on materials published by local parking lot operators and on publicly available data, but it may change without notice depending on the operator's circumstances. Be sure to check the fee schedule posted on site before entering a parking lot.
- The Operator does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information, and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, is not liable for any monetary loss of any kind, such as a difference in parking fees caused by incorrect information.
- The Service does not provide parking lot reservation or payment functions, and problems that arise in the course of using a parking lot are matters between the user and the operator of that parking lot.
- The Operator is exempt from liability where it is unable to provide the Service due to a natural disaster or comparable force majeure, and is not liable for any disruption in use caused by the user's own fault.
Article 12 (Compensation for Damages)
- If the Operator causes damage to a user through intent or gross negligence, the Operator is liable to compensate for that damage.
- If the Operator suffers damage as a result of a user's violation of these Terms, that user must compensate for the damage.
Article 13 (Dispute Resolution, Governing Law, and Jurisdiction)
- The Operator and users will make the necessary efforts to resolve amicably any dispute arising in connection with the use of the Service.
- If a dispute is not resolved, the laws of the Republic of Korea will govern, and an action may be brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.
Supplementary Provision: These Terms take effect on July 17, 2026.
